OUR GUILD VISION
Unknown Entity is a World of Warcraft Guild on the Cenarion Circle server. The founders of Unknown Entity seek to develop friendships with mature players who have common playing styles and online experiences. If you have no interest in High End content, or cannot play in a fun and mature way, then this is not the guild for you.
RESPECT AND COURTESY
Unknown Entity is committed to creating a guild that is conducive to enjoyable game play based upon mutual respect and common courtesy. We are mature individuals who are seeking other mature players who wish to create an online community that is fair and appropriate to the game. One that allows all guild members the freedom to be themselves, yet display respect for others by what you say and do. Unknown Entity believes in honesty and integrity above all in our common pursuit to have fun.
End-User License Agreement (EULA)
Unknown Entity expects all guild members to follow the End User License Agreement set forth by Blizzard. This means you will not engage in any activity that takes away from another player's enjoyment of the game. The use of common sense and fair play will control all of our guild decisions.
GUILD LEADERSHIP
The Unknown Entity Guild Leadership is comprised of a group of Guild Commanders, and a Guild Master. There is no "one leader", rather a group of people that share equal level leadership responsibilities. All Officers will participate in the various roles required to lead a successful guild and all Leaders have an equal say in guild decisions. Some officers/Leaders may spend more time leading guild raids while others spend more time managing the guild itself. This is simply our way of dividing up the workload and playing on each others strengths.
CONFLICT MANAGEMENT
All conflicts will be handled by the guild leadership. If you have an issue that needs to be discussed, please involve a guild officer in a personal chat session. Guild chat is for gameplay, not player or guild problems. Whenever you feel the need to resolve a problem, always use a personal chat session.
Any guild problems should stay within the guild. It is quite common for members to have friends outside the guild, but guild issues are not for public criticism.
Flaming will NOT be tolerated, either in game or in forums. If you cannot control yourself while you make your point, we will shut the topic down.
If you have a problem with another guild member you should contact a guild officer for help resolving the problem. Unknown Entity is all about teamwork and if the team can't work together, then we have a problem. We will not tolerate childish acts like putting other members on ignore or unwillingness to work out your differences. We are a mature guild and expect our members to act that way.
We ask that members and non-members use the Private Message feature of our website for talking with officers about any problems and concerns. Please reserve using /tell to Officers and Guild Leadership in game for emergency issues or game prohibiting problems. We get a lot of /tells in game and there is a lot going on while we are raiding. The Private Message feature will allow us to devote more thought and attention to the issue when we're not trying to lead a raid or organize an event.
DEALING WITH OTHERS
While we understand that people will have the occasional spat with someone from outside of the guild, our members must keep in mind that while out in the public, they are representing not just themselves, but the very name of Unknown Entity. In lieu of this, we expect people to show a certain level of restraint when posting on forums, and when dealing with conflict from those outside the guild. The best option, when someone is being abrasive, is to put them on ignore, rather than fuel the cyclical drama of an argument. This holds true for members of the Horde faction as well. Even our enemies deserve some respect.
ROLE-PLAYING
Cenarion Circle is a Role-Play server and as such we respect that and the people that choose to fully Role-Play their characters on the server. Unknown Entity supports and encourages members of our guild to RP their characters. We do not however require our members to RP if they do not enjoy doing so. We do ask that members do RP their characters when using the /say , /yell and /emote channels, as this is part of the RP Server Terms & Conditions setup by Blizzard.
RAIDING
We raid regularly and we expect our members to be able and willing to raid with us on a regular basis. While we don't expect fanatic devotion, and understand that the real world will have its complications, it is generally understood that raiding frequently is what we do, and if at all possible, prior notice should be given before missing a raid. If we are raiding and you are online you are expected to be there. Especially mains that have been geared and become a big part of our raids. we don't discourage playing alts but be there for your guild mates. They all helped you get your gear. Return the favor.
When you join this guild, you will be expected to raid our primary instances with us alone and not with any other guild. You are expected to support our guild runs as much as you are able (considering your schedule and real life). You may ask permission to run with another group, but permission requires guild Commander or above approval. See a guild Commander or officer if you have any questions about this guild requirement.
In the future, we need to make it clear that members of other guilds assisting us must have their guild leader contact one of our guild leaders before finishing an instance for us. Members of any guild that exhibit this type of parasitic behavior against Unknown Entity will no longer be allowed to accompany us on raids.
Concerning Other Guilds
There may be times when we will need to work with other guilds to accomplish in game events. During these times, all members should treat these other guilds as if they where honorary Unknown Entity members.
On the same note, we are not concerned with what other guilds are doing on the server. We do not care if guildX got the server first kill of dangerous MobZ. That is not why we raid. We raid for the enjoyment of conquering the encounters, and doing so on our own terms. If we get a server first kill along the way, great! But we will never push our members to raid longer and more often just to get a server first kill before guildX does. This does not mean our guild members cannot have friendships with these people.
What we do while raiding is public knowledge. After the raid is over people can look at our website and find out what we have killed and what loot dropped. Unknown Entity is not concerned with keeping things a secret. This includes encounter strategies and raid kills. We will not doctor a screen shot to hide mob placement. We just don't care. If someone asks you and you want to tell them, feel free. World of Warcraft is designed in such a way that every guild can participate in the encounters. We are happy to help other guilds and would hope other guilds would be happy to help us.
DKP
DKP is used in all raids requiring 25 combatants or more. New raiders to the guild will start at zero and earn DKP for being either in a 25 man or online and ready to help out if needed. A lot of people in this guild have put a lot of time and effort into it, meaning that a few that have quite a bit of DKP. This does not mean newer folks cannot win, it means that as more people win, those with lower DKP climb the ladder.
The leadership here is very tuned into the fact that we want everyone strong not just a select few. If you put forth time and effort to raid consistently, you will be rewarded. Be patient and it will come.
If you leave Unknown Entity (voluntarily or not), your DKP will be wiped clean if you are above zero. If you are below zero, assuming you are allowed back in, you will start where you left off. Therefore, leaving the guild in a huff and hasty decision can have very powerful consequences for you. Think before you act.
