RAIDING RULES
Updated 1/25/2008As Unknown Entity transitions from a "casual" raiding guild to a serious raiding guild, the following rules have been set in place. The goals of these rules are to do the following:
- Speedier raids
- More enjoyable atmosphere
- More successful results and progression
The following rules will be enforced:
1.) RAID LEADER -- The Raid leader must be at least the rank of Exalted Raider. Regardless of rank, the raid leader WILL be treated like any other officer. Disrespect of the raid leadership will not be tolerated. They're in charge, you're not. Tells will not be sent directly to any Raid Leader without officer approval. This is to avoid unnecessary distractions.
2.) SIGNUP & ARRIVAL -- Signing up is required, however if you're signed up and not early, you will be replaced. Arrive 15-30 minutes prior to the scheduled raid time to ensure prompt invites. Raid schedule time is for the first pull. The raid will be called off no later than 15 minutes past scheduled start time if the required number and type of raiders are not in place to zone in at the start time. If you are not present for invites you will be replaced by someone who is.
3.) REPAIRED AND PREPARED -- There is no excuse not to be repaired before a raid. For preparation purposes, there are "shopping-lists" out for each class. The officers have taken time to make your job easier by defining those things you will need to be involved in our runs.
Treat each raid as if it will last at least 6 hours. In addition, your gear should be appropriately enchanted and gemmed. Lack of preparation will result in disciplinary action*.
4.) RESEARCH -- Know your responsibilities in each raid. Review boss and trash fights prior to attending. Many of the raids we participate in have timers. Raid leaders WILL NOT micromanage pulls or boss fights. Do your homework before coming and know what your job should be. If you have questions, feel free to whisper someone in your class if you need help. If you have not read the strategies on the boss we are approaching, you will be replaced with someone who has.
5.) ADDONS / VENTRILO -- All raiders must have the required addons and Ventrilo active and ready PRIOR to raiding. There are guild-specific and class-specific required addons. These are outlined in the
Download Addons thread.. For Ventrilo, you need at least the ability to hear, not necessarily to speak, and you must also be in the proper raid channel at all times during the raid.
6.) ETTIQUITE -- All raiders will act responsibly and with due maturity. Fun is encouraged (ie: Blame Thranos?), but must be appropriate and in good taste. Fun spreads when everyone's having a good time. Flaming in a raid will not be tolerated. If issues arise with someone, deal with them discretely or with an officer. If your attitude is bringing everyone else's down, be assured, you'll probably be asked to either cheer up, stay silent, or leave.
7.) VENT CHATTER -- We all like to chat, and that's fine. However, chatter in Vent is allowed up to pull time. When the pull has been initiated, all chatter must stop. Only the raid leaders or players requiring call-out ability should use vent for the duration of the fight. The raid leaders are the ONLY people who should call for a combat resurrection. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action*.
8.) AFK's -- We will schedule times for breaks. If you have an emergency, assess the amount of time it will take. If it is two minutes or less, be sure to inform both the raid leader and set to follow an appropriate class. AFK's should not exceed 2 minutes unless otherwise authorized by the Raid Leader. If you are AFK for more then 2 minutes you will be removed from the raid and replaced. There are 24 other people here that wait on you if you disappear. Please be courteous. Repeated AFK's may result in disciplinary action.
9.) PVP FLAGS -- ALL RAIDERS MUST ENTER THE RAID WITH PVP FLAG OFF. If you are invited and you are PvP flagged, you will be removed from the raid until your flag is down.
10.) SELF-BUFFING -- Raiders will properly self-buff. For progression raids (ie: not on farm status) all raiders are expected to be fully self-buffed for both trash and bosses. This means both battle and guardian elixirs (or flasks), food buffs, poisons (if applicable)...EVERYTHING. Yes, it is expensive. Yes, everyone is expected to do it. Yes, you will have ample farming time to get the items you need. Progress requires preparation. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action*.
11.) UNDER-PERFORMANCE -- Understand the requirements for your class/spec. We will not carry people through raids. For progression bosses we will have minimum performance levels posted. If you are performing below the posted minimum desired performance level, you may be replaced in order to ensure the success of the run. Note: this does not mean you will be removed, but if we are wiping you may be replaced. If this happens, this is not a punishment and you will still receive DKP for the run.
12.) LOOT POLICY -- Read our
Loot Policies13.) RESTRICTED RAIDING ZONES -- We need our members to be available for our raids. It is fine to not sign up and participate in one of our raids, but it is inappropriate to do so and attend a raid elsewhere. Do not raid any instance listed in the
Instance Checker with other guilds or friends. If in doubt, contact an officer for permission. Breaking this rule will result in disciplinary action*.
*DISCIPLINARY ACTIONSSteps may be circumvented depending on the severity of the issue.
1.) In game whisper from an officer
2.) In game conference with officer and GC/GM
3.) Removal from raid
4.) Loss of privileges
5.) Suspension from future raids (week, etc)
6.) Loss of guild rank
7.) Removal from guild
