Last night (12:23 am)there was a huge explosion in a petroleum refinery a couple of miles (5 to 7) away from my home. The shockwave from the explosion registered as a 3.0 Ritcher scale earthquake that was felt in all the metro area of San Juan, Puerto Rico. This was followed by several others during the night.
Apparently about 9 to 11 huge fuel storage tanks blew up all at once.
Obviously we are all ok here at home, but needless to say, last night was a interesting night
There is a huge raging fire still going on at the place of the explosion and if the wind direction changes we may have to evacuate the area because of the smoke, it is very unlikely because of the usual winds patterns, but not impossible.
I would be available for the raid unless that happens.
Edit: Update
The initial explosion was a chain reaction that took out 11 tanks, 15 tanks are now in flames, but the authorities say that the fire is now under control and they don't expect it to propagate to the remaining tanks. The fire is expected to last several days until it runs out of fuel since there is actually no way to put it out.
The wind direction has been holding steady blowing the smoke out to sea and is expected to remain that way.
Thank God
